Lares trek + Machu Picchu

4 Days | 3 Nights

Day 1: Cusco – Calca – Lares – Wacahuasi

Transfer from the hotel at 05:00 hrs to start our adventure crossing the Sacred Valley of the Incas on the way we will be able to appreciate the majestic sacred valley with its fertile lands, then we arrive at the small town of Calca (2940 masl) then ascending through the small villages of Totora and Maucaupata. Finally after a trip of approx. 4 hours we arrive at Lares (3,200 masl) visit the thermal baths to take a refreshing bath. Then our lunch. Here the muleteers await us, they will be the ones who accompany us throughout the journey of 03 days. then we start the walk arriving at our first camp in 4 hours Wacawasi (3600 masl)

Day 2: Wacahuasi -Ipsaycocha – Patacancha

After breakfast, we start the walk to our second camp, this day we start early as we will ascend through the ipsay pass and on the way we will appreciate different peasant communities as well as different customs and the textiles that they weave for their daily use. We will arrive at the Ipsaycocha lagoon, where lunch will be, then we will continue to the town of Patacancha where we will spend the second night.

Day 3: Patacancha – Willoq – Ollantaytambo

After breakfast we will continue with our walk towards the small town of Willoq, a population with original customs. We will also pass through small towns in the course of our walk. We will be able to observe the archaeological remains of Qochapata and Pumamarca, to appreciate the famous Inca terraces, at approximately 2:00 p.m.: 00 hrs we will arrive at the town of Ollantaytambo, located on the banks of the Vilcanota River, a fertile valley, this ancient Inca village is considered one of the most important living museums in the world. Then we will have a delicious lunch, from there we will have free time until we board our train to the town of Aguas Calientes. We will spend the last night in a lodging with a private bathroom and hot water.

Day 4: Machu Picchu

Very early we will walk to the Inca city of Machu Picchu to see the sunrise and then have a guided tour of the entire sanctuary, approximately 2 hours and a half. Then we will have free time to explore on our own, after exploring return to the town of Aguas Calientes.

In the afternoon we will board the train that will take us to the town of Ollantaytambo, where our transfer and the bus await us to return to Cusco.

During the walk you must carry the sleeping bag, mats and your personal belongings (eg backpack).

After the tour you can take a walk through the Plaza de Armas and its surroundings, where you can appreciate the work of Cusco artisans in the craft stores. You can also taste the famous and unmatched Peruvian cuisine in the nearby restaurants or you can simply take a break on one of the benches in the Plaza de Armas and appreciate the panorama and take the classic photo to remember in a warm atmosphere despite the cold of the Cusco nights. And if you like the night around the square you will find many clubs and bars full of tourists and locals waiting to have fun.
