We leave Cusco very early in the morning until we reach the town of Limatambo (3100 masl), the trip will last approximately 4 hours. From Cachora we will begin the hike, along a gently sloping path, along the way we will observe the Padrayoc (5,482 m) and Wayna Cachora snow-capped peaks, halfway through the day we will have a break at the Capuliyoc pass from which we will have a Panoramic view of the Apurímac valley, then we descend appreciating the beautiful landscape of warm climate until we reach Chiquisqa (1930 m.s.n.m) here we will have our first camp. (Lunch and dinner).
Very early in the morning we will continue the walk in the direction of Playa Rosalinda (1550 m.s.n.m.), then we will go up a slope towards Santa Rosa, in this place we will have lunch, later we ascend to Maranpata (2850 m.s.n.m), a gentler climb, During this journey we will be able to observe the entire path of the first day and the vegetation that exists in this place, then we will travel a straight stretch towards Sunchupata. From this place we have 1 hour more to travel until we reach the archaeological complex of Choquequirao.
Very early after breakfast we go to the archaeological center of Choquequirao to appreciate the sunrise, we will visit the citadel for three hours always accompanied by our guide who will accurately explain about this important Inca refuge and the importance of the Apurímac and Rio Blanco rivers. In this way, we will also be able to appreciate the Vilcabamba mountain range, after the guided tour we will begin the return to Sunchupata and descend to Santa Rosa, and then descend to Rosalina beach, later we will go to the town of Chiquisqa, where we will camp. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner).
After breakfast in Chiquisqa (06:00 hrs) we will return by the same path until we reach the Capuliyoc pass and we will continue for 2 more hours to Cachora, this walk does not require much effort; and from here it is two more hours to the town of Cachora east It is a much smoother section and we will be arriving at approximately 12:00 hrs. On the way we will appreciate the exotic flora and fauna of the place, as well as views of imposing snow-capped mountains and the impressive Apurimac canyon. Finally, return to the town of Cachora, where our transportation back to Cusco awaits us. End of our services.
After the tour you can take a walk through the Plaza de Armas and its surroundings, where you can appreciate the work of Cusco artisans in the craft stores. You can also taste the famous and unmatched Peruvian cuisine in the nearby restaurants or you can simply take a break on one of the benches in the Plaza de Armas and appreciate the panorama and take the classic photo to remember in a warm atmosphere despite the cold of the Cusco nights. And if you like the night around the square you will find many clubs and bars full of tourists and locals waiting to have fun.
